No one sees
your work
Working from your room, nobody gives feedback, nobody tests it and nobody notices when it breaks.
Prototype is a live-in hacker house in Guwahati, India. Ten builders move in, ship every week for twelve weeks and demo in public at the end. Batch 01 moves in on 11 January 2027.
Talent in the North East is everywhere. What's missing is a place to use it: a desk, a deadline and people who notice when you ship.
Working from your room, nobody gives feedback, nobody tests it and nobody notices when it breaks.
Every hour spent on chores, outages and a slow connection is an hour you aren't building.
Without a date on the wall, a side project drifts for months and never meets a real user.
The best builders from the region leave because the people to work with are somewhere else.
Builders in the North East spend more of their week on rent, food and power cuts than on the thing they're building.
You bring the project. The house handles everything around it: a desk that never closes, internet that survives the monsoon, food at regular times and nine other people shipping beside you.
| Week | Milestone | Target |
|---|---|---|
| 01 | Move in, set up, first standup | |
| 04 | First version in a user's hands | |
| 08 | Ten real users, weekly releases | |
| 12 | Public Demo Day |
Twelve weeks, ten builders, one public Demo Day. Every Friday you post what shipped, and every Wednesday you show it working. By the end you have software, users and people who've watched you build it.
The rhythm is light on purpose. Most of your hours belong to your own project. Four rituals keep everyone moving, and you stay in control of the rest.
[Scroll to continue]Tuesday is deep work. No meetings, and lunch comes to your desk.
Wednesday 19:00. Five minutes each, working software only.
Thursday dinner with a founder, engineer or investor.
Friday ship log, and a public Demo Day to finish the batch.
Every plan is a level of fidelity, from a rough sketch at a day desk to a working prototype in twelve weeks.
Three Prototype places per batch are full scholarships, chosen on the work alone. Living in needs a refundable one-month deposit.
No. Prototype is a place to live and work, not an investor. Your code, company and IP stay yours.

Not for Assam or Meghalaya. Indian citizens need an Inner Line Permit for Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Mizoram and Manipur, and we help you apply. Foreign nationals may need a Protected Area Permit for some areas.
Two fibre lines on different routes, a 5G fallback and a generator keep everything running through outages.
